i know a dog just like that RFYL, in fact he is lying on his back on the sofa next to me right now.....he is scared of his own farts for godsake!

and yes.....he is 22", but still cant abide cats no matter how much he is told otherwise!

some dogs will, some dogs wont, but i think there is a better chance if entered properly i.e. later rather than sooner!

No matter how big and well developed a yound dog may look, or actually be, if he's not allowed time to mature mentally then you could be wasting a young dog's future by trying him too early, a dog that, had he been allowed time to mature mentally, would probably have a fuller and longer working carreer on "heavier stuff" than one entered too soon.

 

Obviously there are exceptions to every rule, but a dog thats allowed time to mature mentally before entering, will, in the fullness of time, be coursing charlies or whatever to catch them, not just chasing the fuckers around the paddock not realy wanting it. And we all know that at some point everyone has seen what I was just refferring to, I know I have. Not all dogs will make the grade regardless of method and time invested in them.

 

Just my humble opinion for what its worth.

i av a pup at 12 months she got bit a 6 months by accident and now theres no holding back. we were on a dig and the lad let her lead go and she got stuck in stopped for a second and got stuck in

the bitch is 12 months now and she has had 4 in the last couple of weeks. 3 with my other bitch and 1 on her own. it was one of the lads son who let her go so i did not give him a slap so think what you like i no it happened

no i said she got bit a 6 months that was the end of last season i only started back at reds 4 weeks ago she is game now got one thursday nite with the other bitch and she got it first and got a bit of stick and went mental with it i have it in my phone but i dont have internet on my phone

My mistake, i read the thread wrong so apologise, although i still think we have differing ideas of what constitutes gameness in a lurcher and a couple of foxes doubled up aint mine...........

let the dog mature ,you will know when its ready ,double it up with a dog next time that knows its job no looking back.
