chook1 184
due to the state of our sport the public perception of hunting with dogs the media interest and sites, such as this, which are open to all and sundry ,where people post pictures that are'nt really suitable since the ban and everyone just putting pre- ban after everything. Does anyone think the police will push for a law to be passed that will treat us all like common criminals and have us arrested and prosecuted for going equipped in pursuit of game; contrary to the welfare of animals act 2006..ie out at night or day with a lurcher or lurchers, with no written permission; miles from home without a good reason, just lik,e a burglar with a bag and crow bar..and saying im walking my dogs or im only after rabbits, just wont wash anymore...Automatically leading to arrest loss of dogs and vehicle, fine and possibly a ban on keeping dogs If they did that they would have to pull every single person/s who are out with lurchers, as how would they know - your not from the area ? there are too many people in this country who own lurchers - either as working dogs or pets they just wouldnt waste their rescorces on it, would be pointless - especaly with the cuts that are happening. fieldsman 51
good brief, wud get that kicked out, a lurcher in a car dose not put you in the crime of poaching, If you have previous and are miles from home unless you can prove "EG visiting mate relative" they will nick you for going equipped just like a burgler with a crowbar. forest of dean redneck 12,022
A, very sharp blade that folds under 5 " long is all you need to paunch rabbits and is legal to carry. a bright led torch just so you can see dog in dark esp in winter afternoons and early evenings. and dress in casual clothes not like your an advert for realtree. and your only out walking the dog and its a dog you rescued from appalling living conditions ill treated blah blah but these breeds need alot of exercise/road work. etc etc if that doesnt work tell them your an ethnic minority and their infringing on your human rights and your going to european court Quote Link to post
