I coursed with him for years and i can tell yea he dident test her the way i would test her but some people seen her run and say shes a real one so have to believe them.He breed her and he has breed a lot of those whippet crosses the last 5 or 6 years and i dont know if any were as good .The best dog he has now is his old stuff again mixed in with the whippet stuff Quote Link to post
fat man 4,741
does anyone know, for sure, if Phillip King still has any working irish terrier x greyhounds in his kennels? does he have any of that breeding left at all? cheers. he has no first cross irish terrier greyhounds .But he dose have some dogs with his old line or irish terrier in them but its well back in their breed. The dogs around ireland that have alot of his old lines in them seem to me to be the dogs that are talked about most. And before all the shit starts again. Why did he get out of them or not keep more of them?I dont know am asked this question almost every day even last night on the phone a lad from galway side asked why he has whippets .So im sure youl get the usual experts giving their reasions cause PK is a dog dealer and everything is for sale he has sold everything in his yard with that old stuff in it he just seen ££££ signs instead of seeing the future and ni he has to start from scratch trying to get a new line going to get the ££££ coming in again..... Not dissagreeing with yea willy but i know he was offered some good dogs and bitches to breed from of his old stuff and other good lines for nothing and he wouldent take them. Why do yea think that was? Was it black terriers? He didnt have blacks in nearly 20 years .Lurchers i was talking about I would say its even longer than that speedie since philip kept fell terriers. He also bred some usefull wheatonx's of that rambo dog, that was around 1985 if my memory serves me right. He had a lot of dogs about him back then, nearly all were loose in the yard, only the real good lurchers were locked away, lol he also had big dh types at that time aswell.I know of 1 dhx that came from philip,it was a dog called whistle,a big blueish rough coated dog,it finished up in ballymore in westmeath, you may recall the dog speedie,he was a very good dog on hare and on fox. Was he of old tiger brother to old rocky who was father to rusty who was father to irish lady lol he could well have been speedie,i just remember the dog and remember been told that he came from pk,i actually used him across a 7/8ghxdh i had at the time, which produced some very usefull pups, they took all game but i was not into the hare hunting, just fox and bigger game.I had not a clue as to what way whistle was bred nor did i ask as to see the dog work was good enough for me.As for pk,he could talk dogs all day and you were always made welcome in his yard whether you were buying or just having a look at his dogs.
