DUCKWING 302
WELL FELLA , IVE NEVER HAD THE NYLON HITCH SNAP ON ME ........ ALL THE NEOPRENE OTHERS HAVE . HOWEVER , I HAVE HAD CERTAIN BIRDS UN-PICK THE NYLON HITCH .........AT LEAST , WHEN THEY ARE NEW , ONCE INGRAINED WITH DIRT THE WEBBING BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT FOR A MAN TO GET OFF NEVERMIND THE BIRD !! NONE OF THE ABOVE ARE PERFECT ..................... PERSONALLY FOR OXFORD TYPE STAGS I WOULD GO FOR THE SHORT OR PROFESSIONAL SHORT BEING MY FAVOURITE AS THEY CAN BE PUT ON BIRDS WITH LONGISH NATURAL HEELS WITH EASE AND IVE NEVER HAD A BIRD UN PICK ONE DUE TO THE WAY THE CORD IS SET UP , THE PROFESSIONAL CAN SOMETIMES BE A PAIN AND FIDDLEY WHEN YOU ARE SWOPPING A FULL YARD OF BIRDS ROUND , THE LONG HITCH TYPES HAVE A TENDENCY TO SNAP AT THE THINEST PART WHERE THREADED THROUGH THE CIRCLE I USED TO HAVE MORE BREAK OF THAT DESIGN THAN ANY OTHER ........... FOR THE LARGER ASIANS THE BEST BET WOULD PROBABLY BE THE NYLON HITCH .......... BUT AS ANYONE WILL TELL YOU WHO KNOWS ME ....... I WOULDNT HAVE KEPT ONE OF THEM UGLY MOFOs ON THE PLACE !!! HOPE THAT HELPS ALL THE BEST DUCKWING
artic 595
Duckwing, great post and thank you Well those Hitches in the picture are from Bellefarm. I think I'll order the short hitches for now and see how I get on. That's the trouble I've had , the stags pick and pick and eventually are free, sometimes within minutes! DUCKWING 302
WELL FELLA , WHEN THE SHORT HITCHES ARE SET UP PROPERLY ........ YOU HAVE TO PULL THE CORD THROUGH THE SLIT , ITS NIGH ON IMPOSSIBLE FOR A COCK TO DO IT ......... ALL THE BEST DUCKWING
fat man 4,741
Preferr the nylon hitch myself, safer on adult birds,i have never had a cock get loose on one of them yet, touch wood lol.I was using leather hitch's with a metal fastner,b*****d to put on or take off, also heels have to be well formed to use them or they sliped down over them resulting in the heel growing deformed.
