kennel flooring

Im just starting to build a new kennel but am not sure what would be best to put on the floor in the runs.

I was considering either concrete or paving slabs then yesterday a mate suggested using compacted sand as it helps to keep there pads tough and is easy to keep clean and its cheap.

what do you all use? and why?

i have paving slabs in mine easy to left crap and wash out put them on a slight slant for the water to run out works for me but it your dog run

concrete mate most all else ends up stinking of piss as it either gets in the gaps between pavers or soaks into sand

Concrete every time mate, easy to clean and dosnt hold the stench of piss.

wouldnt use sand mate dont matter how compact it is it will soon lift up. Concrete is better.

You can add texture to concrete and the cheaper stuff is usually more coarse.

concreat with a drain along the back of the pen to wash the crap into

concrete with drain , sand will stink in the summer, paving slabs ok short term but will eventually let the pi ss through and will start to sink.

I tiled mine and its the bloody worst thing I ever did,smells if i dont scrub it regularly.Next time concrete,float finished with steel trowel.
