Guest dances
That's spot on mate, to many people don't do this and when they do take the dogs on the lamp with other dogs they yap and bark. As long as you always finish on a high mate its good. Quote Link to post
J.DOG 1,355
Sounds as if you got a good pup mate it's clearly showing intrest and wants to get stuck in on da rabbits . That was a good idea doing that mate this will help him understand what he needs to do in the future just take your time and keep it up getting him enthusiastic about working atb Edited July 25, 2011 by J.DOG Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
Its not something I personally would do,my dogs go everywhere with me every day but they never see a lamp till they're ready to run, watch the simulated coursing at a show and you'll see loads of dogs yapping during the running, its only frustration I know but a 4 month old whippet is far too soon, whippets are prone to yapping anyway so I think you are taking an unnecessary risk when there is no need, wait till the dog has the tools for the job, this is just my opinion, atb, wirralman Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
I would of thought that was quite obvious you kn*b,a 4 month old pup is incapable of anything much and you seem to think they have human reasoning and will learn what to do at such a young age,the tools I talk of come with maturity and age ie:fitness, stamina, obedience, training to name but a few,I have ran dogs for 40yrs and have never had a yapper or kept a poor dog,my dogs all earn their keep ,quickest way to f*ck up a dog is taking it out too early and once its made that mistake there's no going back, patience is required to get the right results,as I said previous this is just my opinion born out of experience not sitting reading about it on the internet, wirralman Quote Link to post
