CO CHISE 357
just wondering if any of you's could help me on how to set a snare properly , ive a family of foxes thats been round me for quite a while as the neighbors feed them, to be honest i didnt mind them been around but they have just taking the piss and crossed the line by killing acouple of my hens and probably killed the lot if i wouldnt of been around, i let them out of there run for a better pick around and as soon as my back was turned the twat set about them around 4 in afternoon, they come from a big patch of bramble on abit of waste land, you cant shoot them on this land as its not safe enough and i think snaring them is the only way or trapping them but i have no trap, i have set 2 snares but they just keep getting knocked out of way, i need to know is what height do you set them and how wide do you have the loop ?, ive set one on a gate that i left open about a ft wide and the other on a run that goes into the bramble but the twats have just knocked them, im into other pest control but no experience in snaring so any advice on how i set them properly would be appreciated, Quote Link to post

cornishtrapper 3
your either setting them to low down or to small a noose or both, the bottom of the snare should be about 8 to 10 inches of the ground and the snare should be about the same size as your hand spread open or a bit bigger.
