TheWizard 6
Has this type of cross been proven to produce good working lurchers before? Or any top dogs from the past? I may be being ignorant as I'm fairly new to the coursing scene having been partly converted from fox hunting , but I've never seen or heard of any alsation x's when talking to other dog men who have a lot more knowledge than I have. Surely a saluki/grey cross would match a dog of this breeding with ease.. depending on the intended quarry? Don't mean any disrespect Malc, the pup looks smashing and I hope it does you proud. Just trying to get a little more insight into the history of this cross that's all Quote Link to post

And they're not for coursing mate. Quote Link to post

Seems they were pretty popular in the '90s for use on heavy game with quite a lot of success it seems. What is this pup to be used for then if not coursing.. a guard dog? Quote Link to post
Guest born to run1083
mate the term coursing is used for only really chasing one quarry I.e hare and usually during the day the are a whole of spectrum of field work not just chasing a hare so he prob will have his uses just not hare, as you said popular in the 's-90's for curtain quarry, think you answer your own question. looks a nice pup malc, not my cuppa tea either but nice pup in general Quote Link to post
TheWizard 6
Ah right! Like I said previously I'm relatively new to this, so don't know all the unwritten rules or correct terminology yet.. getting there though! And since asking the question I've done a bit of reading into it - so yes, I suppose I have answered my own question. Thanks anyway guys! Quote Link to post
