hot air balloons

Recommended Posts

Im after serious replies, does anyone no anything about aviation law

I was being serious  .I'm not saying shoot at the ballons I'm saying use it as a deterrent. They know they are tresspassing by landing on your land and by constently doing it they obviously see you as a soft touch (sorry).Unless you do something that makes them realise that they are tresspassing and you will not tolerate it I'd say get used to it.You're either going to do something to deter them from flying over your land or make it very difficult to gain access to your land to remove their balloon which give the police plenty of time to get there or get some friends to confiscate the ballon until the police arrive

Im told i can claim the balloon if it lands, but these guys are so quick when they land they have a landrover and trailer on the field and have it loaded and gone in minutes.

padlock all your gates

they land from the air lol

their jeeps that come to collect the balloons dont though

The balloon can't be steered as they dont have control surfaces to direct them, they rely on the wind currents and therefore climb and descend to find the wind direction most suitable. What they can control is the area they land on unless an emergency eg they run out of fuel,

It would be reasonable as the land owner to charge a fee should they land on your property.

I would write a letter to the club instructing them in future you will charge £100 or whatever each time one chooses to land on your property. Make sure they can't just drive on and remove the balloon without you having to unlock a gate 1st.

I would also put in the letter should as result of low flying you will be seeking damages to live stock in future, make a video and take it up with the CAA.

Hope it goes OK
