blan89 159
does anyone here live in an urban or sub-urban area kennel their dogs? i had mine on chains but after a few visits from the RSPCA saying callers have claimed they had no bedding/too thin etc, i thought it would be better to just get the dogs out of site and in kennels. havent had the c**ts back again but ive had 2 strange old woman at the door on separate occasions saying its cruel to kennel a dog,and just now got stopped by another old(ish) man who complimented my dogs and then said its a shame i see it fit to put them in a box 23 hours a day,ive never even seen him before. anyone else had any similar problems? Richie10 345
Yep, had many a problem. People moaning about the noise if they bark just once. Bitch was in season, bloke telling me it was cruel to keep a dog on it's own, I have 3 dogs together, that suprised him. People saying it's cruel to keep dogs outside??? Where do you think dogs live? I hope someone is letting wolves sleep in their living room.... People always have an opinion and usually it's an uninformed one.

Cold Ethyl 63
Where i am i cant kennel the dogs anyway nor would i personally with my own but id certainly if i could consider a few for the rescued dogs ive had here to make life a little easier for me and my own hounds.I dont have an issue i know a lot of kenneled dogs and seem happy enough if the kennels clean and the dogs are fed look good then theres no problem.I can understand the chains thing i dont like the idea myself id build a half decent kennel then no one can moan at you

lurchergrrl 1,441
Two of mine have just moved out into kennels. Secure ones, with an insulated sleeping area. The kennel is right up against my house so I can really keep an eye on them. Security light, heavy padlocks, the lot. They're quiet out there. So long as they're clean, quiet, well fed, and exercised, people can complain all they want, it won't make a lick of difference. Mine are in the house most of the time anyway and only sleep out for the most part. Can't see how someone can make a stink over that.
