trappa 518
Just thought id show my latest jam off. Even if you dont like goosegogs (im not keen) you will LOVE gooseberry jam. This batch was exceptionally good. Perfect taste, perfect consistency. Unlike some bramble jam i just made from frozen brambles. Top tip. If youve got frozen brambles try to make jelly not jam, the seeds seem rock hard after theyve been frozen.
harrycatcat 31
I bought 3 scrawny gooseberry bushes from Wilco's a couple of years ago and now they have thrived and have had at least 4lb off (edited to say this year) and there are still more to pick. I cant resist just picking them and eating them off the bush. Edited June 25, 2011 by harrycatcat

JoeD 24
I have your book so will be making it soon can you use the red sweet gooseberries?
trappa 518
Yes Joe. If they are the same gooseberries im thinking of then use the same water to berry ratio and if they truly are sweeter than normal ones use an ounce or two of sugar less. Let me know how you get on!!!! Remember, err on the side of caution and dont overcook. Runny jam is better than solid stuff until your used to making it.
