Guest Paula
We have had all types of different sighthounds over the years and ALL have been excellent with my children, we now only have whippets, they are the most kind natured dog you could have and love children. Quote Link to post
Pennymeadow Whippets 0
I agree with you there Paula Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
collie x grey perhaps ? at the end of the day, whatever breed you get, you most socialise it with small children....... Edited February 26, 2007 by Rabbithunter Quote Link to post
Guest Dale
try a 3/4 bred whippet then , 3/4 whippet 1/4 bedlington , mine is the most caring dog ive had , and also the best worker , wouldnt change her for the world yes the bed/whip are not the most attractive but they do the biz and are gentle , whippets are spot on to . im happy with my 3/4 bred though Dale Quote Link to post
Meerihunter 7
yes my other half has been mentioning a bedlington whippet for a while now but there not the most attractive of dogs are they!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh how can you say that - they are stunning wee dogs! I got my first Beddy x when I was pregnant with my first child. She was a fantastic natured dog, great with everyone and proved to be a great wee rabbiting dog too. Have to agree though that any sighthound, esp Beddy x or Deerhound types, would be good Heres some pics. Quote Link to post
Guest Dale
Well if you want an attractive dog then pick something you like the look of...and with the kids its the way you bring it up... jay any pup would be good with kids as posts state . just get a one with decent parents , and the nature of the pup should come naturaly , lots of attention will help this and young kids will never leave a puppy alone , as for the breeding , go with what you want , that part is upto you Dale Quote Link to post

Atractive dogs hmmmm when looking for a dog I tend to first of all look at what I want it for, where I am going to keep it ,I then pick what is best for my needs looks dont come in to it. Good luck with your search it is a minefield out there Quote Link to post
countrymaid 2
whippet/bedlington are a good loyal dog Id recommend a whippet or a whippet/bedlington cross, my 3 daughters do junour handling all over the UK and my eldist enjoys going out on the farm lamping with our hounds. Heres a pic of my daughter in the south west whippet clubs junour handling team last summer, shes the one in the middle Quote Link to post
