Guest Frank
Ok, i did not know about this and im not sure what it is like over their in the Uk. A mate of mine, has got a bull x greyhound, his coming on great and taking quarry steadly. He lives in a council house and for 13 years, kept himself to him self, not bothering a sole. He ferrets, shoots and does the odd days fishing. He has another lurcher, a deerhound x greyhound, a cracking dog on hare ect. Last week, some BOLOCKS, for some unkown reasom, must of reported him to the council, for having these dogs, as a council official, turns up out the blue and produces a warrent, with 2 coppers, to search his property for dangerouse dogs.???? Apparently, under the contract you sighn, their is a condition in their, that says, no dangerouse dogs may be kept. My mate tryd to explain, that his lurchers were not dangerouse and were just mongrels, this did not seem to stop them, as the dogs have been taken away, for DNA testing. The deerhound cross will be fine, his worried about the Bull cross.? Have they got the right to do this? must be a new thing, as its news to me and him. Anyone had this problem here in Ireland? Whats it like over their in the UK folks, as if its the same as here, it farking stinks. Its like going back in time, to the days of the landlords, telling us what we can keep and what we cant, so thats how the lurcher was evolved i believe, so that it could not be classed as a running dog? Oipnions and genuine experiences, welcomed. Frank. Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Right b*****d to do that. I had the local dog warden call before xmas looking to see both my dogs, which I found strange cause I keep the terrier in the house, some fooker reporting me. Anyway he asked what breed the lurcher was and was happy with my answer, which leads me to believe your mate was grassed up, the f****r who reported him knows the dogs well, b*****d. Freedom of info act should put a stop to that b*****d who reported him. Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
I know one thing, who ever it was, they picked on the wrong fella, as his brother is a solicitor. Does anyone else on here live in council property and have had hassel? As im sure he is not the only one that has lurchers and lives in a council house. Frank. Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Just got off the phone to him. His dogs were returned from the dog pound this afternoon and the results of the tests will be confirmed tommorow. The dog warden that droped them off, said that their should be nowt to worry about, as the bull cross is a Staffy. We shall see. He is glad their back, but, he said, he will not drop this, as it should not have been done. Some wakners about this planet of ours. Frank. Quote Link to post
dodger 3,590
Sounds like stress your mate shouldn,t be having to deal with, glad he,s got the dogs back and i hope it stays that way. Your right tho frank its a joke things just seem to be going from bad to worse its anything they can do now to make things difficult for lurcher/terrier owners. Quote Link to post

Guest Frank
The latest on this case is, my mate has been told, his dogs come under the dangerouse dogs act and its ither him, or the dogs that have to move out. He is one unhappy chapie at present. BESTERDS. For those who are living in a council house and have dogs over here, watch out. Frank. Quote Link to post

Guest dig deep
i live on a council estate, there is only two things i have to worry about- 1. the dogs barking all night and keeping the neighbours up 2. the neighbours seeing the terrier after a dig or two Quote Link to post
highlander 0
I used to live in a council house in Scotland when we went to sign the papers I told them I had dogs and ferrets and they were no bother. I had 9 dogs in the house at one point when my terrier had pups unexpectedly. I never got a bit of bother. These f**cking ar**holes just trying to take away our freedom to hunt. Whats the poor f**cking dog and owner done to deserve this. I could see the point if it had bitten some one. Quote Link to post
T.F.Student 0
Tell your mate not to dwell on it Frank...he'll probably never find out who it was. Quote Link to post
