HAMMERDAN 25
Hi all, Just purchased a new dog yesterday 18 month and nutered, as soon as he's gained the confidence to walk around and play in the house, he's started trying to hump my other dog 12 month old (with nuts) and the 12 month old looks weary and submissive, any idea on why dogs do this, and how you can try to prevent it. ATB Dan Quote Link to post

scalesntails 118
Humping is the main reason people get the bollocks cut off their dogs. The only time a dogs bollocks will make it hump is when it meets a bitch in season. The rest of the time is a dominance thing. Once they work out who is in charge it should become less frequent. If he tries to hump you then put him in his place immediately. 2 Quote Link to post

davey 310
The only way to stop a dog humping your leg is to pick him up and suck his cock lol I was once told if it happens it was dominance and lack of exercise don't know how true but mates jack used to shag every thing !! My old man looked after him for month got him out and working after 2 weeks he was two tired to shag lol Quote Link to post

ATB Dan nothing got to do with dominance, its to do with drive in a dog, its a thing that can happen when play stops or starts between two dogs, or a dog and owner, the dog wants to resume play and is just responding to a drive it feels , drive is expressed in many different forms, digging, chasing, bitting , humping, barking, and when a dogs drive is blocked like a terrier stuck in a back garden who feels compelled to dig holes everywhere, do you really thing he trying to dig his way out or plant a flower bed, he dont know what the f**k hes doing he just respond to his drive, get him out and do something with him, tire him out, he just needs to play or run round, and whatever you do never play with a dog in the house, which sounds like what was done here, the mutt will see the house as a play area and wont know at which point to stop, which is where most owners fall out with the mutt ,,inside calm,,outside play,,the mutt will understand given a chance,, best of luck with him, 1 Quote Link to post
