hi i'm tom,

Just thought i'd try and have a bit of discussion with similar folkes.

I've had a few air rifles in my early years of my hopefully lifetime hobby.

Currently and a keeper - Falcon Prairie CS .22 (BRILLIANT)

OLD ENS - Benjamin Discovery .177 (BAD)

SMK BAM40 .22 (BAD)

Gamo Whisper X .22 (NICE)

So anyway - i live in the midlands and moved up here in 2005. from wiltshire. i've managed to aquire some land to shoot on for rabbits and vermin etc. i also am attempting very long range can and egg shooting hopeing to reach 250yards!!! i also shoot in my neighbours garden at the odd pigeon and of course at the shooting club.

but if anyone knows of any land i could shoot on with my friend (hw100) that would be of course welomed.

also does anyone know of any brass parts that can fit my Falcon Prairie CS?

thanks and hope i dont come accross as just trying get questions answered.

ps- subscribe to my joint YOUTUBE* account (airguns4life2011) The videos at the moment are quite basic but will be ugrading soon with new camcorder and better stuff.

thanks again. SEEMS LIKE ALOT OF WRITING :wallbash::icon_eek::gunsmilie:

Hi Tom and welcome. I see your in Leicester too mate what club do you shoot at and what was wrong with your discovery I have one and for the price it does ok.

hi, i shoot at barby/rugby so probably more warickshire direction, im thinking of going kibworth but i hunt so one club is enough.

as with the discovery, well i bought it a few months ago and it was one of the newer models which came without a front site but with a silencer/muzzle adapter on it. this was badly fitted and caused the accuracy to be seriously bad and it also made the pellets go on a diet every time they went on an adventure.

i was optimistic it was going to be good i did my homework and for £180 for me it was pretty cheap.

hows yours?

I had exactly the same trouble mate that adapter is way to short fixed it for a while by putting a bit of masking tape around the barrel but have got a good adapter now that fits snug over the barrel. It's ok now nice and simple with nothing to go wrong I only bought her because I was interested in using .177 for hunting. Do you still have it as it would still make a good back up rifle with a bit of work.

no i got a refund and then saved up for the falcon in my avatar pic which is really nice i think. i was thinking of getting another then gradually upgrading it. the stock first definately then probably the cylinder or bolt. so what do you hunt?

There is lots of info and parts to be had for the disco mate gmac custom parts is a good place to start. I shoot rabbits every couple of weeks at the huge gardens around office blocks and factories that I look after and get paid for it too. Doing a shoot tonight start at 8 and will stay till 4 at the latest. It's not enough trigger time gor me though.

Lucky in a way but I can't just turn up and shoot when I get the urge as it's pest control and part of the contract for the grounds maintenance. No pics or film it's a secure site they don't like pictures being taken of anything so dead bunnies would be the worst thing for company image. Shame really. Would be nice to get my own bit of land to shoot I'm being spoilt by these tame bunnies they are used to seeing people and vans driving about. My closest kill was about 5 yards lol but take them upto 40ish.
