ARSPCA AGAIN!

Recommended Posts

If you plan on advertising pups on GUMTREE.Your advert will be screened by the ARSPCA!

They took off my add and the letter under my reply is what they had to say.

Thank you for your reply,

Unfortunately the RSPCA has once again gone beyond common sense!

My advert CLEARLY said that the puppies would be ready the 2nd or 3rd week in JULY! And could be kept LONGER if required.

THAT WOULD MAKE MY PUPPIES 9 OR 10 weeks old!!!!!

Considering the health system used for these pups and the considerable cost involved in DNA testing (which is more than rspca animals get!)It is incredibly short sited that someone from that organisation can dictate unrealistic rules to a responsible breeder.

If I had indicated that the puppies could go early then Fine! I would have accepted that. I DID NOT!

Could you please get your RSPCA representative to email me and explain which part of my add made then think I was going to jeopardise the welfare of my pups!

People have to know WHAT's available and WHEN! How on earth can they plan for their new puppy if they don’t have that information?

I feel as if I have been labelled as irresponsible by the RSPCA.

They have no right to do that.

But I guarantee your representative for them will not answer my email request.

Incredibly angry

George Allan

Hello George,

Thanks for getting in touch with us to ask why your ad is removed from the site.

Gumtree is dedicated to doing everything we can to ensure the welfare of all the pets advertised on our site and have been working closely with the RSPCA to make sure we adhere to all of their guidelines. We have been advised by the RSPCA that all puppies on the site must be at least 8 weeks old as in many cases they are not strong enough to be taken away from their mothers before this age.

It was brought to our attention that the puppies in your advert are not old enough just yet and so we have removed your advert from the site.

Once your puppies are 8 weeks old please feel free to post a new ad – advertising them once they are old enough will help ensure you are able to rehome them safely.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Thanks,

Yasir
