I shot my first fox this evening. It was at my permission down near the village, I was just about to pack up hunting when I got kinda got drawn to a gap in the hedge (you know the feeling), I looked into the field next to the woods and saw an orange blob mooching up along the hedgerow about 100 yards away. So I closed the gun, got into a comfortable postion behind a branch so I could look through but it couldn't see me  .

I squeaked it in from 100 to about 30 (which was too far for the cartridges I was using) and it stopped, then I gave it a few more squeaks and I kid you not it f*****g came running towards me jumping over tufts of grass, when it was at 15 yards I poked my gun through the leaves and fired :hunter: . Because of the postion I was in I got knocked backwards and couldn't see what happened. I looked over and saw one very dead dog fox :yahoo: . Damn happy with that I was, got my first magpie earlier that evening too. :rocker:

The gun was a Baikal IJ27 and cartridges were Saga 30g of 6's.

Did I mention I was damn happy? :D

You might not think it when you frequent these forums, but not every hunter carries a camera with them when they hunt. I don't even own one, my mum doesn't let me borrow hers anymore. And what with it being damn hot that day and having not gotten anything the last few times I've been out I couldn't be bothered to carry another bit of kit around.

Basically. :D
