When l read your topic title Russ it reminded me of the pictures (see below) l took of the sea in February from a local beach 2 days after the worst storm we have had for about 2 years.

The sea still had not calmed down and it was scary even standing on the beach as l thought every wave was going to engulf me. You can see from the pictures it's almost as if the sea is boiling!

Beautiful and frightening in equal measure..... They look like some cracking thunder heads in the distance :thumbs:

The ferry picture is definitely Tarbert on the Isle of Harris and the beach is Luskentyre beach as I have a picture of it taken from the same spot lol!

cal mac ferry laying in the east loch the west loch has the best shore mark for common skate in the islands

 

Breasclete imho is just as good and once held the record for the largest shore caught skate in the UK but it could be lm just biased as l only live up the road from the pier thumbs.gif

Yea so i hear also scalpay and stockinish i have had fish upto 187 out of stockinish and lost a few :icon_redface:
