Just drill the rivet out with a suitable sized drill bit

thanks for that ,then reriverit? ,seems 2 me a bit of fcuk on for changing a bulb

:icon_eek: thought you wanted to re-wire it  to change the bulb mate you just pull the old one out and then push the new one in dont touch the new one with your bare fingers though the grease on your fingers can deteriate the bulb

If you'd bought it new there would be a spare bulb in the handle, well there always used to be. When you do put the new bulb in make sure the beam is centralised before you even go lamping. Just shine the lamp at the floor and look at the circle of light you'll see a brighter ring somwhere inside it. You first need to decide how tight you want the dot by pulling the bulb out from the housing to the desireable setting and then make sure the dot is centralised again. The bulb doesn't get pushed all the way in it's out a couple of mm. Pity I didn't read this earlier or I could have told you to look at how your old bulb was set before you removed it.

When you order the bulb a vertical filament gives a round tight dot and a horizontal filament gives more of an oval beam with slighty more spread.

so which 1 works best or is just a preference thing or depends on the land you lamp

I prefer the vertical filament and set the bulb for the tightest dot possible for throwing the most penetrative light out for the longer shots but yes its down to personal preference, some like more spread to light up more to lamp quicker.
