gnipper 6,837
I've had quite a few tarantulas over the years and they don't bother me at all apart from when I got bit by my first one (chile rose)as a kid and when I was trying to box up an adult female cobalt blue to post it to a lad, I was nudging her towards the box with a pair of forceps when she decided to run up them and I couldn't get them off my fingers

baw 4,360
I can handle money spiders no problem but I'm f****d if I'd share a village with that. If you can't kill it with a newspaper you got to be worried.

gnipper 6,837
I've had quite a few tarantulas over the years and they don't bother me at all apart from when I got bit by my first one (chile rose)as a kid and when I was trying to box up an adult female cobalt blue to post it to a lad, I was nudging her towards the box with a pair of forceps when she decided to run up them and I couldn't get them off my fingers did it hurt real bad ? and what was the outcome, are they poisonious ? i know if it was me it would be wearing a boot against a wall It didn't really hurt at all but I just froze while it was biting the back of my hand repeatedly with its 3/4 inch fangs, eventually after what seemed 5 minutes but was probably ten seconds I shouted my mum who knocked it off my hand and walked off calmly saying ' I thought the bloody house was on fire!' while I just sat on my bed while my heart beat returned to normal . The bite off a tarantula is only like a bee sting so only dangerous if your allergic to bee stings etc. The cobalt blue about to run up my arm was far scarier though because they are mean b*****ds Edited May 11, 2011 by gnipper

chimp 299
its funny because the worst wack off a snake was a royal , my fingers swelled up like sausages thru infection , had a bite on my arm by a 14ft indian as it was round my neck , the old arse went then
jigsaw 11,902
you must be nuts keeping them horrid ferkin things
gnipper 6,837
I don't keep them anymore mate, I had snakes until my little girl became scared of them but now i'm sticking with the dogs, ferrets, fish and canaries. I also have to sort out my littleuns guinea pigs and cat so couldn't be arsed keeping exotics tbh. Keeping my terrier away from the cat is a full time job
jigsaw 11,902
well that was the right road to take gnipper,I went to a pet fair one time back and walked into this little shit holding a big hairy ferkin spider on his arm.I got a panic attack there and then, the little lad thinking it was hilarious decided to follow through and scare the bejaysus out of me,I lost it and told him with deep emotion I was going to break his ferkin back if he didnt take the filthy thing away from me,I felt awful afterwards as he was only around 12 but it was pure hysteria at the time Thank god his father didnt hear,
