 No one is putting you down mate, it's just a good idea in future, to read up a fair bit before you have the litter of whatever it is you are breeding. It's just advice, take it or leave it, but don't look on it as an insult or put down

My jill had a litter of 8 on thursday. Thats a good size. Last year a jill belonging to a mate of mine had 16! Thats to many.

what the least they can have

Without having none at all i reckon the least would be 1.

Btw raw meat is the ONLY thing i would be feeding her contrary to others opinions. And i certainly wouldnt be giving her or the kits milk neither. However i give it as half rabbits so its a nice big chunk rather than say mince. Yes they do drag it into the nest but you should be checking on the kits everyday anyway while the jill is busy elsewhere so it can be removed and replaced.

Why 'should' you be checking on the kits everyday??? To be honest i wouldnt advise anyone to go digging through the nest everyday to remove bits of rabbit.

I dont think he means you to dig threw the nest every day but you have to run a eye over then any meat or a kit dying will soon be covered in maggots and you certainly dont want them eating into the rest of the kits

If your feeding meat watch out the jills no carrying any surplus into the kits as it will soon go off and attract flies then twenty four hours later you have maggots ,try feeding at night and removing any remains in the morning

milk is good for a ferrets calcium levels and when a jill has a large litter its alot to give , so milk keeps her calcium up or she could fade and die. its not a nessessidy , but recommended. each to there own
