Recommended Posts

it must be 10 years since i last went on a proper hunt with the air gun, but i was called to a cricket field with a rabbit problem, so decided to go down there last night, got there at 7.45 and the archery team were packing up so off i wandered round the field, wasnt long before i had spied the first rabbit so layed in prone and took the shot, not very far and slap, the rabbit runs off with a hole in its ears, hmm not as far as i thought, with that shot a rabbit came running out of the hedge a bit closer this time between 25 and 30 yards right i thought cross hair on the chin this time, smack the pellet strikes home, i look down the field and there was easily 50 rabbits running towards the edge of the field, i thought im in here, move down another 80 yards and wait it out, wasnt long before a kit comes out (all is fair game here big or small they have to go) about 40 yards slap another in the ears, bugger i thought, 10 min past and not a thing and i aint one for waiting these days, so start squeeking after 3-4 seconds of squeeking i counted 13 rabbits with 12- 60 yards away all looking to see who was hurt, so load up the rapid cross hair on the closest and smack little flip and no movement, load another .20 in cross hair on the next smack, load again smack, i done this 7 times before all the rabbits decided enoughs enough, by this time is was getting dark quickly so rounded up the rabbits to show the groundsman very happy for 40 mins hunting but should have been double figures, will be heading out again at the end of week will get some pics of it then, im just so used to hunting with the rimmy that i am useless at judging close distances now and the hold over is alot different,.
