wabbit slayer 16
Hi I've have been given permission to control the rabbit population on and around a nice hotel near me. However the owner is asking me how much do I want? for keeping the rabbits at bay. He is quite happy pay me to do this for him by means of shooting, fereting and trapping. But what should I charge? should it by the hour so much per visit or just a flat rate for the year. Like may people out their I would like to do this as a part time bussines for when I retire. Thanks Quote Link to post

Thanks it all epends how much YOU think its worth take into account diesel/petrol pellets your time ... feeding your animals ... is it easy ferreting or is it all nettles and brambels ... if you are happy sloging your arse off for a tenner then charge a tenner personally i wouldnt work for so little ... if you are putting in the hours then charge accordingly .......... The one 8,598
If your wanting paid for it ,is he going to phone you each time he see a rabbit ? are you going to be at his beck and call ? them you have to charge accordingly .And whatever methods you use will have to be out of sight from his guest's ?. Theres lots of things come into pricing the job Quote Link to post
Holdaway 2
Don't charge, treat it as a permission and be thankfull you have some good ground. That way when you can't make it there for two or three weeks he won't drop you like a brick. Tell him you want a tin of pellets a year for the airgun, that's all I do. H 1 Quote Link to post

Thanks If you are going to treat the place as somewhere convenient to go on a regular basis and cream off a few bunnies then it might be taking the micky to actually ask for payment . If you get offered a few quid "petrol money" accept it with good grace and a smile though!. One the other hand if the guy seriously wants a big reduction or as near as possible a wipe-out job you might find yourself slogging away under pressure to perform . If you do succeed you will deserve some financial compensation and a bit more next season to keep on top of em . How much compensation will depend on what you alone need to make you think it is all worthwhile rather than what anybody else might charge . Quote Link to post
