becomming an spring airgun tuner?

Recommended Posts

Just a few random questions i hope some people may answer; do you need any qualifications as such to become a airgun tuner? What kind of price should someone charge to tune a gun say just a polish and correct lube and also replacing parts/buttoning piston ect? I only ask as i am looking to make some spare money and am confident with spring airguns. Also any general comments would be good.

You'd need to be RFD registered for a start then there's building up a client base. There are loads of great spring gun tuners out there mate and I suspect competition will be fierce.

Still, I'd get in contact with such likes as The Gun Traders Association to see what advice they can give.

Good luck!!

We have several good Air Gunsmiths @ my Club Lea Valley

They started by working on their guns and assisting other Members

None make a living due to restrictions - RFD and servicing customers

But do to help cover their own costs

Not aware of any Air Gun Smith trainning courses -

Aware some started when working in Gun Shops and moved onto servicing in house work

Very Few Air Gun Gunsmiths I would trust my Gun's to -

Also with Springers there are several Kits that Allow owners to do the work

without the need to use Gunsmiths
