superfurryanimal 91
how long do chicken eggs stay fresh and are ok to eat after being laid, and what's the best to put down in nest boxes, straw, or what else ? a.t.b sfa
darbo 4,779
i use a deep bed of shavings in the nest box. other people on our allotments use straw or shredded paper. whatever you choose to use change it regularly. as far as eggs are concerned i think shops have a 4 week best before date but i could be wrong.our eggs dont last long they are eaten by us or are given away to friends and family. Tuzo 251
I'd say your right Darbo......shops have 3 weeks to sell the eggs and its assumed they'd be eaten within 1 week so thats 4 weeks in total.
