Irish Lurcher 1,013
Here goes. Pike will eat anything, they wont refuse a free offering. Problem is some Pike do become a tad suspicious when they have been caught regularly on certain baits. They do learn to associate danger with lets say a herring that they have been caught on before. But the down fall of the predator is the fact that it has to feed even when it’s had its fill of fodder fish. On hard fished waters natural bait will catch no matter how many times Pike have been taken on it, they have to eat to survive and their natural prey is the fodder fish so I would always use fresh fodder fish on hard fished waters. Danny-Macca 0
I haven't been out since before christmas but the past few times I was out last year all my fish came off Smelt, I only had one other run on a different bait which was Mackerel, lost that fish too. Quote Link to post
