PIKE FISHING

Hi chaps, just wondering what yous prefer to fish for pike, what dead baits, float or popped up of the bottom or lures. Im just starting out the now and quite like the float, got a 7lb'r this morning with a smelt bait. Thanks

I like popped up roach pollen or mackerel tails. Does the trick.

i like to wobble a dead bait.normaly use smelts. small trout are good stay on the hooks well.

depends where the fish are mate, poppedups have worked for me both in the magins and chucked out to the centre of the lake, as for favourite im partial to them all, trial and error but i will always start the day legering a deadbait in the margins up beside reed beds etc sometimes in no more than 2/3ft water

Theres nothing like the sight of a float bobbin about before taking off!!

 

My fav baits would be smelt and lamprey, heres one i caught on smelt!!
