DRP 3
Theres nothing wrong with using a treadmill!!! As others have said, its an addition to the normal road work and free running. Actually (especially if you have a few doggies) it makes sense unless you wanna spend half your day walking around, as most people work, thats not possible! I had one for many years (right next to my computer desk), but needed the cash so had to sell it unfortunately, it wasn't in use, I've left the UK and it was back there. Definitely a plus to have one though, just make sure your dog does a shit before hand, one of mine would do her business whilst walking on it if she hadn't had a quick run around before hand and relieved herself, as they would do a few kilometers at a time on the mill, some walking and some trotting (if you can call it that for dogs). mr-lurcher 6
a treadmill is not the same a field and they cant turn on a treadmill so i keep with them on walks on lead and of lead to keep them fit Quote Link to post
Guest Darth Vador
Why are people so hung up on treadmills do they have blinkered vision, the same old arguments! A mill is a good way to keep your dog fit, move on with the times don't live in the past. Its like saying why drive when you can walk? People are so blind when it comes to treadmills they comment on something they most likely have never used and if they have they must of fcuked up big time with there dogs. Its not lazy to use one, next time your missue jumps into the car to take the kids to school tell her to get her fat arse out and walk.. Whats the difference.. Quote Link to post
welshnutter69 78
i walk my dogs 2-3 times a day, have run of the fields, but like i said, u cudnt beat a sesion on the treadmill...so i think its a wise thing to invest in...i have 2 lurchers and thay cannot be walked to gether, way 2much playing around Quote Link to post
staffs riffraff 1,068
I'd use one if I had one as I got 5 dogs 2 are not mine just looking after them but to take 5 dogs out at same time is madness done it but look like a right berk when 4 of them are very strong n see something they want to chase so have to do at least 2 walks a day and they have to be good walks so it would be usefull chuck them on for 15/20 min at jogging speed in morning Quote Link to post

I also bet most of them would jump at the chance if given one. Nowt like the green eyed monster for bringing out the worst in people Quote Link to post
watchman 256
im certainly not disputing the fact they are a good bit of kit to have, just not for me thats all,i had to keep mine in shed purely because the lack of space, just saying i would rather walk them than sit in the shed watching them run it thats all Quote Link to post
