lampinglurcher 36
great looking dog mate, whats it like to work? Quote Link to post
Ossie 11
bought him for looks mainly *bad Ossie!*, but it was one of them things, even if he turned out to be shit, it's always nice to have a dog that makes people go "wow!". i'd have been a prat not to buy him. turned out he's a pretty decent lamping dog. not big on retrieving, but he was 7 months when i got him, and had missed out on a lot of the training that i would expect a dog that age to have had. i don't work him as much as i'd like, it's mainly daylight running on a huge bunny-filled field next to where i live. i love lamping with him, but we were using a modified 1mil candle power torch, and it sort of had a little vehicular accident... sort of left it on the ground behind my car while i was taking the dog & a couple of rabbits into the house, forgot about the torch... then later backed out to go to the pub... *CRUNCH*. shit. just saved up enough pennies to buy me a new one to tide me over while i'm saving up like a loony to buy a proper lamp. he was a year before he picked up his first rabbit, but when he can get a decent run on one, he'll always catch it. he doesn't give up, he'll run & run til he's got it. i've had him out on the meadows at mine, all fences & shit everywhere, he went into a fence full-pelt, bounced off, and still caught the rabbit. sometimes you just wish he'd give up, but it's not in his nature!
