PRINCE WILLIAM APPOINTED AS COLONEL OF THE IRISH GUARDS

 

The Queen has been pleased to give her formal approval to the appointment of Prince William as Colonel of the Irish Guards.

 

Prince William will take over the appointment from Major General Sir Sebastian Roberts, KCVO OBE.

 

 

Background

The regiment was formed in 1900 by order of Queen Victoria. Based in Victoria Barracks, Windsor, but currently deployed to Afghanistan, the Battalion is made up of five companies and a variety of supporting elements. This is Prince William's first honorary appointment in the Army, and he will be the Irish Guards' first Royal Colonel. The Queen is Colonel-in-Chief.

Best of luck to him, I think him and his Brother are a refreshing change :good: , I think Charles should step aside for William to be King once Liz II's time is up.

 

spot on fell,i personally think charles will never be king.The queen will reign for many years yet and it will be passed down to william.he has been groomed (prob not the right term lol)from an early age as the next king.look at te diffrences between william and harry,and dont think its just a personality thing.william has always been level headed and knows he cant behave as his brother does.i still piss myself the day i picked up the paper and saw harry in that afrika corp uniform lol

I can think of a more valid reason Charles should NOT ever be King!!!!!

 

Is that because he talks to his plants? :rofl:

 

lol they say it helps them on.in fact there is some truth in that.its the carbon monoxide from your breath they thrive on.or carbon something cant exactly mind which one it is.
