You may not have to do anything other than keep their hutch extra clean while their in season, I have two 3yr old jills and i did,nt breed from them last season, all that happened was that they lost some weight for a couple of weeks, i gave them a tonic called collovet, its just a mild pick me up i used to use on horses, you can use it on dogs birds, etc, the reason you have to keep the bedding clean is because during the season the vulva swells up and stays that way because theres no mating taking place, it will go down itself aftera while but in the meantime its at risk of infections, my jills were perfect after a couple of weeks :victory:

Thanks for your advice i will keep the extra clean when they do come in season, a freind of mine who said he yoused to keep ferets told me to put a brick in the cage when they come in season  dont know why anyone heard that before or do you think he was talking a little bullshit??

Same here I've kept ferrets for 25 years and never had a problem with in season jills.

Like reynardhunter says keep them clean and it's highly unlikely you will have any problems.

It seems to be the in thing these days to either have the jills spayed, jabbed or mated by an

infertile hob.

I have a piece of rough sandstone in each hutch but that is for their nails which I still have to

trim with the clippers.
