deanflute 550
Been out this morning for an hour with a ferret in the pocket and a couple of nets for some sport for the dog Didn't bother netting any up 1st bolter. Got up and the dog gave a good chase, Over the fields turned back into the woods and back into the set Then she knocked one up out of cover, Again a good run around the woods and made its escape 2nd bolter. Got up good course round the woods, Caught and retrieved 3rd bolter, Another good course, Caught, Ready to retrieve until 4 Rhodesian Ridgebacks bounded up to her and one of them bit her on her back , Obviously she let go of the rabbit and it made its escape, I'm hoping it hasn't done any phsycological damage to her catching and retrieving and it spoilt a lovely hour out, Apart from that I really enjoyed myself Thanks for reading Quote Link to post

Shouldn't do but I won't know till next time I'm out. How are you mate? Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,924
Just recovered off the flu, started the pups retrieving training. My mate got that pup, deerhound cross, give me a shout next time you fancy a trip up lamping or ferreting Quote Link to post
CarraghsGem 92
i would consider bringing her out with a mates dog and keep her on the lead for the next run, get her fired up so much she'll forget all about the incident with the ridgebacks and just focus on the rabbits, prevention is better than the cure.
