i know a well known terrier man from cwmbran who dug to a duck and thats true

Probably a Shelduck, mate. Best described as Duckdoms answer to a Magpie, really? Bit more colourfull though.

Yeppers; They nest in burrows and such. Perfectly plausable that someone would dig one up some day :good:

A Mallard down a 'Real' hole? Bloody hell! Thanks for that, Foxtrack! I know 'most ducks' actually feel quite comfortable entering 'holes' ~ one look at a Duck Basket or indeed most ducks 'Nest Boxes' shows us that. But that's the first time I've ever heard of a Mallard going - presumably? - deep.

(Mind you; I thought it was 'Something' when I saw a Carrion Crows nest made almost entirely of bloody wire! Checked British Birds and found, in Japan, they make their nests almost exclusively out of f*cking Coat Hangers! :icon_eek: )

Great thing about birds; Ye never know what they'll think of next to f*ck with our heads!
