separate hob already?

Recommended Posts

well ive got four ferrets. two hobs and two jills. one of the hobs is snipped, the other is intact.

I've had a bit of experience with the hob which is snipped while he was in season, so i know when the other is trying to do the deed.

And, the intact hob seems to be trying it on with the jills (his sisters).

dragging them around and into the bedbox and all that.

His bits don't seem to have come through yet, and the jills aren't ready either.

But he seems to be putting the jills through some stress.

Should i leave them together, or separate the hob?

thanks, Adam.

If his testes aren't dropped and the Jill's aren't swollen are you sure hes trying to mate with them ,He might be trying to show hes the dominant ferret ?.

i agree with what "the one " says but id seperate them any way as ive had the same problem with mine

I can't be absolutely sure, because well this is the first year ive kept them, and my first winter.

But they've been together from birth, and the hob hadn't been like this up untill a few days ago.

And i thought he had already shown his strength, as he is the most dominant ferret (gets first dibs on food and all that)

But any and all advice really welcome.

Thanks, Adam.
