Im not new to ferreting but have never herd of ferreting at night till yesterday on here.

crept out with lurcer bitch, Q set long net my bruv and a pair of asbestos boots each (due to how hot it is on this peice of ground !)

Couple of hours later 16 clean bunnys. all bolted no lay ups and we lost about five as i havent had much practice with L nets.

realy enjoyed it even though it was -7 , dont think id do it with out the extra light from the snow and the full moon. tried nicely to get permission on these open warrens but the farmers a reall pig.

THATLL HOLD HIM ! :victory:

Well done on the 16 rabbits, but how did you manage to get the long net poles into the ground?

You wouldn't be able to mark the ground with them up here, minus 15 at 8am this morning.:o

I went saturday day when there was only a light dusting on the ground and it was hard going so I took a claw hammer to put the poles in with.

I didnt use it once last night weve now had 5 inches of snow and I reckon it must protect the ground a bit. dont think purse net pegs would have gone in. poles can be moved one way or the othere till you find a softer patch.

Long nets all the way for me now!

a lot more rugged than i thuoght a couple of times "ada" hit them chasing rabbits and with a little straitining out they were good to go again.
