I have a marine ply box built with lift off lid, hole cut for em to get in and out, use carpet squares sliced to keep draft out, got a couple of big waterproof cushions in and a load of blankets chucked on top to sleep on, inside a brick shed like yours, its warm as toast, hardly ever need the heat lamp, we just knocked a hole through and built a run on the end of the building,

Alright matey, thing about the shed is lack of sunlight. It really does make a difference, them not being able to lie out in the sunlight during the day. You could try some kind of sky light? Maybe with a mesh over it?

If it was me I'd build them some sort of run just so they can soak up the sunshine when it comes out. Dogs love to lie in the sun, even if it's just inside near a glass door that lets the sun in. Not to mention sunlight gives vitamin K.

Maybe you could knock a hole in the roof and put a skylight in? That'd do away with the gloom.

As for sawdust? I reckon it just captures the piss smell. I think a concrete floor hosed and brushed out regularly would be better.

totaly agree with you mate, but seen plenty kennel set ups on here without a run so was fishing for ideas cheers for that

Its difficult without seeing it, but what i'd probably do if i wanted what you wanted is to cut some kind of decent sized sky light in the roof and use a decent grade mesh for security and a sheet of perspex over/under the mesh. You could make the perspex removable if you wanted to leave it open for some fresh air, just make sure its not over the bed area. Then make bench beds, up off the floor, out of wood, with some kind of mat/rug on it. I'd leave the floor concrete and if i was feeling really fancy, sink some kind of channel (shallow) down the middle and out to help drain when you hosed it out (you need to gradient the channel). Then get a solid steel door or reinforced wood door and a double lock put on it (something big). Job done.
