BIPODS ON SPRINGERS

Recommended Posts

the reason is down to the kick. when your pulling the trigger the spring shoots back and the whole gun moves, throwing the barrel off line. if you are wanting to use some thing to rest your springer on look at getting one of these.

Yeah ive been looking at them, will get one from my local gun shop!

Ive heard ppl saying its becoz the rifle cnt recoil properly with a bipod thats why people recommend a bag becoz then it can still move back and not jerk the barrel. But then ive read that ppl have been fine with one lol

Hi 19,

The rifle will recoil but not in the way that you want it to buddy.

You will find that 90% of the time the shots will impact high and right if you are right handed.

This is due to some of the recoil going down the bipod legs and pushing the rifle barrel up as the shock wave hits the floor.

This can be levitated slightly by having a bipod that sits nearer your trigger guard on a springer so the pellet is out the barrel before the shock wave hits the floor through the bipod legs and lifts the barrel.

It doesn’t always work though and some springers will always just shoot different if you zero off a bipod and then shoot standing or vice versa.

I thought so 19 buddy.

Its the norm with a springer.

Dont worry buddy, no harm in asking questions on here pal.

The lads on here are very experienced and will assist where they can.

I have been there and made all the same mistakes myself buddy when i was learning too.

Enjoy the section
