dougie_s410k 1
After managing to get a day off from work finaly I managed to get out today for my Jills first outing and my first outing ferreting. What a cracking day, only out for a couple of hours but with frost and some snow on the ground and plenty of holes to clear we set to work, clearing 11 holes in a treeline in the middle of the field we netted up and down she went within ten minutes we had one bolt from under the hut thats been there for years thats unable to be netted, we worked this for around 30-40 minutes and that was the only rabbit bolted these have been previously ferreted so we moved onto another warren this time a bit smaller and overgrown so once cleared and netted up she went to work again, this time down for a good 15 - 20 mins then all of a sudden a rabbit bolted into the net closely followed by the jill, what a brilliant moment. She was fired up and went back down shortly after and was in and out for the next 45 minutes but no more bolted. We had to get a move on as we went back to fly my mates Kestrel.... what a cracking few hours out, ok only one rabbit out of two but no fault of the jills and for her first time out she was pretty impressive. With the purse nets from Longnetter and the brilliantly comfortable Mouchers box from DD Timber Products it made for a cracking day out. Quote Link to post

Every bunny in the net is a success . Glad you enjoyed yourself . Quote Link to post
