captain jack sparrow 8
they are born with it,same as cow hocked, toeing in/out straight stifles undershot etc you look for these faults when chooseing a pup Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
Have a look on Turbotyke's post: if it is the same it is called Carpal Varus syndrome. Google that and read up on it. I haven't been able to find the exact cause of it but some dogs do come right. Rest, correct diet are a must. I'd see the vet because if it is very bad then the prognosis is poor. Some sources state that it can be caused by poor nutrition of the bitch before the pups are even born. Others say that it is inherited. Whatever the cause it is not good, though I did see one Saluki/Grey bitch which came 100% good and ran well: her owner was advised by a Great Dane breeder to give the pup Vitamin C supplements, plenty of red meat and stay well clear of high protein complete puppy foods. In other words, a well balanced (meat, bone, offal etc) natural diet is best for this. These are not my words and I haven't personally come across this problem in any of my dogs: sorry couldn't be or more help: I'd see the vet and get their experienced opinion. Quote Link to post

hogdog 61
There are several different cause for bent legs, I think you did well to take the Vet's advice as they're the one who'd actually seen it. Quote Link to post
