gnipper 7,004
Had a do out with the ferrets today on a bit of permission i've got that holds a few bunnies (the place we got 32 in the middle of the field in a ten holer) but its bloody hard work to catch them. Last week we did the hedge on one side of the field and had to dig practically every one out This week we did the ditch on the other side which is practically one burrow that goes the length of the field, with us only having 3 collars at the moment we used 2 jills and a tiny hob I bred this year which worked their arses off trying to get the rabbits to bolt or into a stop. Because of the cover in the ditch and a fence that runs along the top we had to run the quicksets along the fence and stop nets where we could going down to the waters edge and just hope they didn't jump across and into anti territory. There is one big tunnel that runs the whole length along the fence line so the rabbits can't half give the ferts the run around. Ended up with 17, missed a few that jumped across and left knowing there was still rabbits in there but next week we'll take the big hobs so it's bolt or die time for the bunnies . Its on sand and the digs go to 3 or 4ft. Took Scrap with me for marking up again but he din't really need to as we know where the feckers are. Cheers, Gnipper 1 Quote Link to post
