meat wasted? help!!!!!!!!!

went to take a couple of skinned rabbits from the dogs chest freezer tonight and its been accidently turned off at the socket :censored: so ive got a feezer full of defrosted meat like rabbit,lamb neck bones and minced tripe,can anybody tell me if i should bin it :no: or will it be ok to freeze again bearing in mind none of its for human consumpion,cheers in advance for any advice people.

i had about 20 rabbits in my freezer and [bANNED TEXT] unpluged it :censored: and i didnt check it for about 2 weeks then went in there opend the door and what a smell it was honking due 2 all the water in the bottom and the rabbits rotting it was making me sick so i had 2 drag the freezer out tip it over and al the water was thick with blood so got all the rabbits in a bag ran to the woods with it and on the way down the field the bag split and had no gloves left and best of all the police helicopter was above watching they probz fort it was a dead body but after a min or 2 they went probz smelt it so i had pick them up with no gloves and put them in a spare bag it was the worst smell ever possible i felt ill after for days i could smell it everywere i went :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick:

Dogs dont get food poisoning like we do, just look at what they will scavenge and eat when out. It will be fine to refreeze if its still fresh. If you cook it you will have to spend ages taking the meat from the bones.

Agree Molly to a certain point.

 

Several years ago, i had a whole deer off a fella for my lurchers, cut it up and stuck it into the freezer.

We had some bad storms that year and the power had gone for a day or 2, the meat defrosted.

 

I refroze it, thinking it would be safe and fed it to the dogs when defrosted again.

Big mistake, 2 out of the 3 dogs died :cry: , 1 just about survived.

 

When the postmortems were done and the surviving dog had tests, BOTULISM was confirmed. :o:(

 

Warning, please becarfull with all meat. ;)
