little story and some pics

hi all, went out the other night too a old field i first ran my first lurcher on, lovely field that holds a family of dear which always seem to observe me from the corner of the field enjoying the light show, took my bitch (first lurcher).

on arrival a quick flick showed many rabbits to be had, as this field is not particually big, i focused on the ones to the middle of it,gota love squatters which one to pick!

singled out one and slipped the bitch, the bugger made a awsome b -line for the perimeter flat out with the bitch gaining quick ,turning paralell to the cover nipping in and out with bitch hot on its heels, rabbit made a mistake, and got picked up beautifully, lamp off and back to near enough my hand ,bunny in jacket pocket, and off we go again, still squatters about, a few uped and legged it, but chose another one on the brow of the field, trying to get as low as it possibly can, thought i had him in the bag but the bitch just missed it from its seat, and the thing sprung up and managed to give us the slip, next bunny she picked up before it hit cover let out a screech, which on walking back i turned the lamp on for a last check. and two foxes were trailing me minutes after the screech,no foxy my rabbits!

i dont do too much lamping ,just when i can i like to get out with the dogs, ferreting /lamping

and cannot express my love for watching them run,and the bit i love in lamping is when the dog has just picked up ,a quick look with the lamp to see if there coming back in too see them with rabbit in mouth walking back to ya, love it!!
