.22lr and 222

i have just filled out the forms for my FAC , i put down i wanted a .22lr for rabbit control and a .222 for fox control, in your opinion do you think i should of only put in for 1 gun or is 2 ok, do you think i will get it. thanks

take a 17hmr so you can shoot fox and rabbit

I got .22rf and .223 centre fire on my first go but different forces will have different guidelines on what they will allow and if you have previous experience on firearms as well it will be to your advantage.

Depends what force you come under. If you have 'good reason' there shouldn't be a problem but there might be a condition such as mentoring

No reason for any problem there ! I got 22lr and .243 on my first cert, as long as you have a need for it.

Different down south with mentoring and suchlike,,never heard of it up here so no idea about that.

put down whatever you want mate. as long as you have good reason for them the flo will soon tell if you have.

Sorry for the thread drift, but when you say 9mm short barreled shotgun, how short a barrel do you mean? Why would a shotgun need to be on FAC? The only reason would be if it were below the minimum allowable barrel length, which would make it a section 5 wouldn't it? Also what was your "reasonable cause to hold"? I'm not having a go, just interested! Isn't the 9mm shotgun what I'd call a garden gun, firing brass cased shot cartridges?
