17.hmr setups

Here's the twins, HMR is the nearest one, with a Hawke Endurance 30IR 3-9x42 on it (although it has a Falcon Menace on it now).

Scope was £130 S/H, Gun £340 New (came with a choice of 5 shot steel mag or ploymer 10 shot so went for the 10shot), S/H SAK £20, S/H Harris Bipod £45

Local gunsmith does the blue tipped Hornady for £9 a box, never tried anything else as they do the business just fine.

I'm not trying to come the old acid here mate, but why have you chosen HMR? What do you plan to shoot with it? Why not .22lr? The point is, at your interview the FEO will ask these and more questions. If you have sensible answers there should be no problem, but if the FEO decides you haven't looked into the matter properly he is likely to refuse your ticket until you learn more.

Like I say, no offence intended, and if you are on the case already go for it.

I would like to apply for a 17.hmr as i would use it mostly for lamping rabbits and shooting long range crows as the .22lr would not be fully competent for the ranges i require for crows in the day time ? that a good enough answer ?

Yup. On the nail!

hi pal

in ya interview also tell him ya want the HMR because of its lack of ricochet compared with the 22lr they will love that because it shows ya thinking of the safety aspect of things as well

When you get sorted phone Bradford stalker. I was quoted £470 from one local dealer they did me a CZ style 16 inch barrel for £390 and another £48 for a proofed mod. I was lucky enough the other month to pick up a ziess scope for £300 and it's top notch. Do yourself a favour don't go for the heavy barrel unless your puttin round after round through it ,they are cripplin to carry. Got rid of mine and replaced it with this one
