Phantom 631
Hey guy's, I think we've mentioned these before But according to the BBC this morning, it seems that these are now becomming prolific little breeders in at least three areas of our country and they apparently are even beginning to oust the Grey's http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11549280?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter When do you think they will be put on the GL as a specific seperate species? I was wondering if they were a variant of the Grey but they appear not to be, however if the Grey and the Black do breed they produce Brown. When are we gonna see yellow and purples Phantom Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Black squirrels are the same species as the greys. They are just a melanistic variant. The variant seems to come with some significant advantages, that allows them to out-compete their grey cousins. They can and do still interbreed succesfully, and produce fertile offspring. As they are the same species, they are covered under the same rules. Quote Link to post
