Another one to my collection..... i have bunched all the selveges on one side, just about to go and bunch the other's.

 

Then all i need to do is pull the line through, couple of end pins, and its ready for the off

it weighs in at about 1.3/1.4 kilo's without the line, so it cost me that amount of twine

 

what size mesh you using for it? if using a 4.25" mesh you will need to knit 850 rows (425 meshes)

 

it took me about about 28hours over 2 months to complete, the net will be 50yarder with 100% bagging, so that there sheet is 100yards long.

yes it is and nicer still to pay for the materials you still owe certain parties for twines ect dont you ryan ??

is there any squaddies out there cause im thinking of useing army string for a long net as i can get an unlimited supply ,used it for purse nets and had no problems the stuff is not a million miles from hemp its pretty hardy stuff even when wet ,im 25 yards into it all ready might make a stop net of gate net just to try it out .

Hello mate, i am a member of the elite fighting force too! getting back to your army spun nets i have made a few purse nets but find hemp better.Once thought aboot making longnet out of the good old army string but once wet it would be to heavy?? so i have just made 2 stop nets out of hemp(spare spools)like wise i to can get loads of the stuff, might give it ago??

imagine it would make quite a handy stop net but perhaps a longnet over 50yards would be quite heavy... as lindsay says once it get s wet it would become very heavy.....
