Guest AngelicAcid
Im seriously considering one of these jackets, either the Kammo winchester or kodiak, or the harkila high bird. both now around 200 quid. Anyone either had any of or both of these?
jasper65 6
Can't say I have the Harkila high bird but my Harkila Fleeces are top notch! Can't fault them ...
Guest AngelicAcid
The high bird is down to 200 quid from 430, the kammo is about 250. I will sort soem links out soon ok.
jasper65 6
Is this on offer at John Norris AA? picked my fleeces up from there Knocked down to £65 each....
Guest AngelicAcid
Yes mate, i phoned a few other companies, and they all rate this jacket even higher than the pro hunter, and they would make more off selling that than the high bird, as its dicontinued(high bird) so on special at a few places now. http://www.johnnorris.co.uk/shop/br_harkila/6294-harkila-high-bird-jacket-92.html
Guest AngelicAcid
The only problem with this might be the length, but its got drawstrings, so would be tucked up all the time. I also looked at the swedteam stuff, but cant get prices anywhere.
Guest AngelicAcid
This is the full spec to the highbird. http://www.bushwear.co.uk/styles.php?ProductID=121393&ClassID=
jasper65 6
Cracking jacket pal! If it was me that would be my choice. I thought the same about the length of these fleeces but they also have a Draw string which is handy. had a few Le Chem windstopper fleeces which seemed pretty thick and padded! the Harkila is alot thinner but outguns the Le Chem all round .... It would be Harkila everytime for me AA.
Guest AngelicAcid
Its a good deal the jacket, and better spec than the famous harkila kodiak jacket. still not 100 % though, but getting there. But that swedteam stuff looks just as good, if not better.

jigsaw 11,902
Jeeze lads, the recession wont be bothering you it seems,£430 for a feckin coat to tear on barbed wire out in the mud and rain I could do a lot better things with 430 than buy a ferkin coat, lol. But if ye have it flash it. Guest AngelicAcid
I wouldnt pay that either mate, as its down to 200 quid. But the amount of jackets ive used and gone through is unreal, 2 berghaus, 1 seeland, 1 deerhunter, 1 cheap tweed thing, and a load of others as well. Just want something that will last thats all. IanB 0
What type of hunting do you mainly do ? If your not an out and out pheasant shooter, I'd go for the kodiak ..
Guest AngelicAcid
Ian i do a bit of most, and need a jacket that can be relied on when its needed. Needs pockets (plenty, as im clumsy.) tough, not bothered about been warm as layers for that, but needs to be waterproof as well. Waz, the jackets either ripped, leaked, zips gone basically whatever else. I was the same on footwear, then started on lowas, and never looked back really.
