red letter day

Recommended Posts

Well folks after months of rain filled weekends the weather was accually perfect to get

the younger brother out for a days ferreting ....he's just starting off see :D

so i woke this morning peeled back the curtins and to my delight a nice frosty morning :yahoo:

woke the wee man up and headed up to uncle johns known as "mr Bean" to friends

anyway we headed off to a place that i havnt ferreted in years we parked up the car walked down to strip of tree's to see if we could find those old burrows :hmm:

with molly(johns dog) to lend a hand it didnt take verry long she marked up on a single holer the net went on a john entered his tiny silver jill i bred this year no sooner was she in and the earth started to rumble beneath my feet........ wham first rabbit in the net ....i grabbed it while john neeted the hole up again as i grabbed it the fecker bit me  but before i had time to worry about that the second had bolted

we moved up the wood a bit and done another 3 sets that molly had marked, the day continued on and the rabbits were coming fast and furious by the time we had done these we had 12 rabbits and decided that we would call it a day and have another trip soon ;)

heres the final bag

Thanks Ricky :thumbs-up: She looks the biz. ;)

I had a whippet x collie once, but she was a wee bit slow at striking her rabbits.

I put her back to a whippet when she was retiring and kept a pup back, turned out to be a cracker. :drink:

Unfortunately, she got ran over by a car  , took a while to get over it, but im back again. :)
