longnetter 32
Hi Mate...Not sure what you mean by "Twine polypropylene" spun poly ? I have some REALLY heavy duty poly (not spun) that I suppose you could describe as Twine polypropylene and it makes excellent nets but it's heavy and expensive (don't get that much on a 500gm spool) Spun poly on the other hand is a very good material ATB Quote Link to post

jarv5116 57
Its like a twine with a what i would describe as a plastic coating on it! On a 250g spool! Its not normal nylon but I aint seen this spun poly stuff! Quote Link to post
longnetter 32
If it's got a nylon coating, how thick is it? would you have to double knot it when making a net? how big would these double knots be? how many nets are you going to get from 250gm? those are the questions you've got to ask yourself mate . If I was you I'd go for either spun nylon or spun poly both are pretty inexpensive (you can get spun poly from Agouti nets) ATB Quote Link to post
jf1970 328
i would go with what longnetter has just said, the stuff you are describing sounds a bit like builders twine, can you put a pic up?cheers......john Quote Link to post
410phil 4
Hi pal is it similar to the stuff that you would expect them to sew leather bikers jackets up with?? If so then I have been using nets made of this stuff for a bit but they DO need to be double knotted also I usually knit them to 4ft+ as they can be a bit stiff otherwise and not lay right. But have a go at knitting one and see how you go. ANYONE WANTING ONE DROP ME A LINE AND I CAN SEND YOU A SAMPLE. CHEERS 410 Phil Quote Link to post
Leeview 792
the orange twine round bales of hay, as well as the blue usually round show rings is what I've always understood to be polypropylene Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
