Mastiff 7
Hi all, I'm a clay shooter that has been asked to look out for a few foxes. I'm not a bad shot at the clays but have never shot a fox, I don't have an issue with doing so (bloody things are emptying hen houses around here) but if I have to shoot one I want to do it humanely. Could anyboy tell me (assuming a well placed shot) what is a clean kill distance with a 12 bore? Thanks, Mick. Quote Link to post
kingkeeper21 2
to me it all depends on what cartridges your using matey at the moment im squeking them in and hamering them with SSGs with full and 3/4 chokes at about thirty or so yards. Quote Link to post

Terryorr 27
I like all my foxes at a range of 30/35 yards max, and using BBs or 42grm 3s/4s they will drop instantly. I know they can be taken further away but you may not kill them cleanly. Quote Link to post

Terryorr 27
In Northern Ireland any shotgun cartridge must have a minimum of 5 pellets irrespective of size. Quote Link to post

Don't shoot at him if his tail is what you're looking at and he's heading away. Quote Link to post
